Big Boy Dinner & Auto Correct

Collin has suddenly become a crazy picky eater. I don't know what brought this on, but it is one of the most frustrating things I've had to deal with as a Mama. I fear for his nutrition & that he will starve to death, because you know, I'm a totally rational person. when it comes to Collin's health. Remember African Lizard Flu? He refuses to eat unless HE is the one feeding himself & he has stopped eating most meats. I don't think a kid can survive on crackers, bread, apple juice, Cheerios & eggs alone. I'm making a special trip to Target & Fresh & Easy tonight in hopes I can get creative. Anyone have any advice before I go tonight? What worked for your kids? I was so frustrated with him last night that I let him have at it with his chicken noodle baby food. Greg gave him a bath afterwards. Because he rocks. I was not looking forward to the clean up.

Oh, you're not supposed to let them hang out on the coffee table?

Have any of you seen the website damnyouautocorrect.com? If not, you seriously need to check it out. I'm addicted to it. I had my own auto-correct fail last night with my Dad. Mortifying!

  3. for protein, try beans. canned beans. drain and rinse them, cook them as instructed on the can and just let him go to town. Different beans have different flavors and textures, so if he doesn't like one he may like another. plus they're super cheap! also, if he likes quesidillas throw some cooked black beans in it! (us vegetarians eat lots of beans!)

  4. Connor ate tons of soup at that age. I'd put in in this little cup tubberware thing and he'd dive in to get a noodle or pick up the cup to sip the broth. He'd have cherrios in the morning. He loved to eat a sandwich and dip it in milk, so grilled cheese, tuna.... I have that on video, remember?

that is by far the best auto-correct mishap EVER!

  5. Cheese is a staple in our house. Charlie LOVES to feed himself cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, bits of cheese chopped up. My secret weapon for getting some sort of veggie bits is minestrone soup. I heat it and scoop out all the goodies. He loves the pasta in it and the veggies are all bite-size. Easy and not too horrible for him. Mac and cheese is always a go-to as well. FYI, mailed the book to you today :)

  6. my sister gives her little guy pediasure because he's such a picky eater and it's full of protein! Kingston loves to try and feed himself too. Even though it's super messy I let him do it anyways!! He is sooo cute. That text thing cracked me up!!

  7. @L - Thank you!!

@Nicole - I never thought about beans! Great idea! I'll be buying some!

@Debbie - We tried sammies, not a fan...though he DOES like to throw them at the dogs.

@Tricia - I got some cheese. Collin likes it! I'm hoping he will keep eating it & not change his mind like he has been. Mac & cheese is a good one! He does like that! Yay! So excited to get the book!

@Shawntae - Te pediasure is a great idea! Especially for days when he eats nearly NOTHING!
