Christmas Time is Here

It's officially Christmas in the Torrico home. How do I know this? Because my Department 56 Christmas in the City Village is up!

For those of you who aren't familiar, Department 56 is a company that makes a few different kinds of Christmas villages. They also make a Halloween one & other things geared towards the holidays, but they are famous for their villages. They have made them into collector's items & each village piece is exquisite all on it's own!

My Mom collects the Dickens' Village Series, my sister collects the North Pole & I collect the Christmas in the City pieces.

My Mom always had her village displayed proudly during Christmas growing up. When my sister & I were old enough, she asked if we would like to start our own Department 56 villages. Uhmmmmm, of course! Ever since, my Mom has added to my sister's & my collections each year for Christmas.

While mine is no where near the size of hers (it's massive, folks...massive), I'm pretty proud of my little Christmas town.
